Minisebran - Translations

Minisebran can be translated into new languages without any help from the author. Below you find an instruction on how to create a new language.

1. Copy the folder English located under the Languages folder in the Minisebran folder (typically C:\program files\minisebran). Rename the folder copy so that it has the same name as your languge, e.g. French, German etc.

2. Start translating texts in the instructions.xml file. This is best done in a text editor such as Notepad. Do NOT translate anything between the tags and . Instead, translate everything located between and tags. Be very careful not to delete or modify any tags!

Example of a translation:

3. Replace all wav-files with new files in your own language. Wavepad is a great freeware tool for editing sound files. Try to keep the size of each letter or number file to about 20 KB. I usually save the files in 12000 kHz (or 16000 kHz), 16 bit mono format to keep them small but in a tolerable quality.Also try to record the new sounds in about the same volume as the existing sound files, so that the user does not have to modify the volume when he changes languages.

It is possible to add extra sound files if your language has more (or different) letters than English.

4. If everything is working out as expected, please zip your language folder and email it to me, so that I can include your new language in the next version of Minisebran!

You can test your translation at any time by just running Minisebran, pressing alt+F2 for options and select the name of your new language on the options screen.
